What did you do with your flock today?

Watching the interaction between 12 two year olds(main flock), one adult roo,two 3 month old roosters,7 two month olds and a momma hen with a two week old chick. All doing well. I also have a broody hen with an egg that's about to hatch.

So far they are having a blast, though the gals are screaming for proper nest boxes. At a bit of a scramble at the moment... again ♡View attachment 3567348View attachment 3567365
Spent 30 minutes spreading mulch and about 2 hours rebuilding brooder to give Hope an crew their own space to eat and nap- till I build brooder in the coop. But now I can't get it into the run all by myself
Well, off to build a ramp for them to get to their roosts.

Hope's babies are growing SOOOO fast. They look amazing, she's obviously doing a great job!

The chickens have been handling the heat pretty well, I think. 94 degrees today, but they didn't seem to mind. They were all active and alert. Panting a little, but not much. I refilled their waterer half full of fresh water and dropped in a frozen water bottle to keep it chilled for a few hours.

Tomorrow I'm going to expand their run space somehow.

I'm going to sit and talk with a special group of my flock kids today once it cools down some if I don't get stormed out. It's already rained some I can tell by the ground. We were gone out of necessity and missed it. We did get home in time to turn them loose before the heat got to be unbearable for them.

That coop is just gorgeous . Love the color and the wood on the back wall. Looks solid and strong too. You guys really build well
