This is called tile stretching. Did not have enough of anything for the field. Hope it looks good and not hodgepodge after the grout . Grout can only hide so many sins .

I'm taking all the RIR roosters off the roost tonight and transferring them to a boys only hoop coop and that is where they will now stay until processing day which is soon. If it were not for a funeral it would have been this coming Saturday. l went out to make sure our windows were up in the van and caught them non stop raping a RIR pullet that they had already killed. Enough is enough. Sisters and cousins are not safe anymore with the hoodlums running wild. I've made it as good as I could for them up until now. They are hatched as a meat source for our table vs grocery store chicken.

We had a rain delay on moving the unruly roosters. Actually the rain came a little earlier. The real problem is in my right arm. A large Lipoma tumor has finally got large enough to put pressure on a nerve and that is limiting what I do with it and how much I do with it. Instead of opening the door and letting them run wild in the morning I'm going to try slipping in and catching the roos and tying their legs together long enough to get them moved. No guarantees but if I get half of them moved that's a good start.

Last night was the kickoff meeting for the new 4-H season where everyone signs up for projects. I thought it might be fun to bring a chicken ambassador to represent our project group, so we spiffed up Wilhelm (he got a bath, a blowout, a butt feather trim, a toe clipping, and some Vaseline for his feet) and brought him

He was very popular and well behaved! All the young kids came to pet him The Clover Club when we joined was primarily a goat and pig project club, so when I volunteered to be the Poultry Lead the first year I had 3 kids but only Aria made it to County Fair time. Last year I was so excited because we got three others that were actually really excited about chickens so there were 5 that I managed. Last night after project sign up, if you include my two kids…I have 14 kids doing poultry! And there’s only 3 doing goats and pigs! So I am super excited to have all the interest, but also a bit stressed out by the amount of kids AND that they want to do things besides chickens So I have to learn about runner ducks and meat turkeys now too! Should be an interesting year

How fantastic! My grandad breeding and raising chickens instilled a lifelong love of the birds in me. I had to wait over 40 years before I could have my own but it was definitely worth the wait! Hopefully, your involvement in 4H will do the same for these kids. 14 though! I doubt I could handle 1!
Wilhelm scrubs up well, handsome boy that he is! He is obviously the perfect ambassador. Will you be showing him too?

He is just too precious! I can't believe anything alive could be scared of that little ball of cuteness! When all this wedding madness is over I will look for that photo of Elliot. He reminds me of him so much.

The tiling looks amazing. How do you get the circles and leaf shapes so perfect?
