What did you do with your flock today?

From their disclaimer I suspect they'll disagree...but wouldn't it be nice!

I'm still hoping on baby. I just checked again and the veins have receded but I think I can see an egg sac! It's strange to be able to see so much inside because the chicks really small. It's weak but it is cheeping and moving.

In the below pic, off to the side we're I can see leg movement, is a few veins and a little ball the doesn't move...egg sac? Maybe?View attachment 3706523
You can see in the first picture that I opened the safety hole just a tad more. Thought it might be ready, but had to stop because I can still see faint veins in the membrane. That's when I noticed the veins connecting inside to the stationary spot.

Sitting vigil with little one until it's hatched and safely fluffed or passed. It's after midnight and I'm sipping coffee with fingers crossed ☕🤞. Such a weak little baby, but it's still trying so I will too.
Keeping everything crossed for this little one 🤞

It's such a quiet, sleepy eyed baby. But it's almost out! Taking it slow so letting it rest again before removing enough shell for it to come out easily. Hoping it's strong enough to push itself out from here though. Looks like it's a white chick with a black head spot.

Last few blood vessels absorbed:

And one tired tired baby almost out. Still worried for it because it just has no vigor to it. But hatched is usually over half the battle.

Three cheers for the little one! ❤️🤞

I tried wooden blinds. They looked like they had woodworm and had been set upon by beavers by the end of the first week!
My little 'darling' flooded the dining room by chewing the fish tank air tubing overnight...
Now that's a determined kitty!

Regarding the flood: you need one way valves on your air tubing!

Yay!!! ❤️❤️❤️ he needs a survivor name!

That was such a strange hatch. I'd read shipped eggs can be weird but I had no idea what that looked like.
Decided on Biscotti 😃.
Biscotti's still looking good so hopefully all's well and I can just enjoy watching baby grow. 🥰
Biscotti is a great choice!! I’m praying little Biscotti grows big and strong!! 😍❤️😍

I through out so scratch around the butterfly bushes so the chickens would weed them. They have done a good job on them so far. Let all the coops free range except for the Cornish Cross hens as they don't need the beating the wild and crazy free range roosters would give them. The pen of RIR pullets are being bred to a EE rooster so they stayed in their spacious coop. There is only 9 of them and their coop is 12 1/2 x 12 1/2. It's starting to rain her now and hopefully they will all go in for the night without me taking a long 1x2 squeegee to them on top of the coops.

It turned out to be both kitties chowing down on the blinds! The Christmas tree has been up one day and they've already started eating that

The air tubing has always had one way valves on it. He managed to chew on the water side of the valves somehow. I got up to a sodden carpet and all my fish lying sideways in about an inch of water. We solved the problem by securely taping the tubing down so he couldn't even get a claw under it and gave him a spare piece of tubing he could chew. He's still chews one 10 years later.

Great website and seems very reasonably priced.
