What did you do with your flock today?

In the cat carrier on our way down. They have become terrific travelers

I thought they would enjoy the lawn better than the roo coops.

Went for a good ride on Boo after helping my son. Was a great day.

Also @ChicksnMore you did a terrific job on the tutorial. 5☆!

Ok...drink cans. You can really do about anything with drink cans. I have a goofy owl I made from them in a moment of boredom...lol. I've made them into little agaves and all kinds stuff.
For those flowers I use the same materials as the last flowers except no tin snips needed.
You poke one end of the scissors straight down into the can. For the double flower I cut the can into two unequal halves. The top of the can should be the longer half and the bottom of the can is the shorter half. For the other flower I cut the top off.View attachment 3256856View attachment 3256860View attachment 3256862
Then cut into 8 petals and shape them for the double flower. View attachment 3256863
Then stack them and you can glue them together or punch holes and wire them or screw them. I tend to glue with liquid nails. Just make sure your glue is rated for water if they're out where it can get wet.View attachment 3256865
Paint and hang or attach to a stake. The can top tab makes a handy hanger so you don't need to poke holes through the bottom.View attachment 3256871View attachment 3256872

The can we cut the top off of you don't need to shape. You put your scissors on the backside of each petal and pull...just like curling a ribbon. The harder you pull, the tighter the curl...so you might want to pull gently. You can loosen the curl some after if it's too tight.View attachment 3256867View attachment 3256868View attachment 3256869
Then paint, hang or stake.

These are so fun!! I’m totally trying this too! Thanks for making the photo instructions! They’re so helpful 🥰🥰

Today was a long, dirty day but so successful and happy! We installed automatic doors on all but two of the coops!! And the two left will hopefully be set up by tomorrow night or Tuesday. It was so awesome sitting outside and watching them go to bed and then hearing the door close on its OWN 🎉🎉

I also decided to try and see if Honey feels well enough to be in the big outside kennel with the baby chicks that are big enough to be outside. She yelled a bit at me like “why did you do this Mom???” And pecked at them a couple times but they seem to have settled in quite nicely with her so hopefully they thrive together. She ate some feed and water and settled in on the roost bar. Honey needs new friends that will be nice to her. She’s special ❤️

I also moved the teenage chickens to the prefab coop that doesn’t have any auto door options I can figure out yet, but they need look and see time so they don’t need a door at the moment! I put all the big kids in the new purple IKEA coop (what I call Omlet coops—weird Swedish geniuses) and they acted like I was trying to murder them. Hopefully they’ll start getting used to it soon 😆 So now everyone has a home, is comfy in good space, and have auto doors to let the out in the morning so they don’t yell at me as much! 😆 Also installed an automatic waterer in my d’Anver coop because it’s SO annoying trying to get in the small run to get the waterer out for refills! Yay for life with chickens getting a teensy bit easier 🎉🎉🎉 I got 205 active minutes! Exhausted but feeling much less stressed before our trip this coming weekend!

Good to hear that Honey is making progress!! And even better to hear she is settling in with the chick room mates 😁.

X2! These are just the cutest things ♡♡♡ where did you learn to do these?! I can't wait to try some out. I'm such a weirdo I loved them unpainted 😂 This is going to be so much fun!!! Thank you so much for sharing :love you are one terrific gal!
I got the idea from a local gallery here. The De Gratzia museum/gallery. I think I seriously misspelled his name!

Do you know how much I love seeing green grass? I don't have any here and grew up with it. Im jealous of your little Chickies! 🤣

That sounds like a busy busy day! I love your little purple prefab...it looks like it'd make a great brooder. I never knew Ikea made chicken stuff!

Oh my goodness what a terrific shuffle and very productive day! Everything looks great and I bet Honey may take to the chicks the way Manono does ♡ good safe company.

The sound of doors shutting lol. Must be like ... first cup of joe? Cheesie pizza?! A warm bubbly bath 😋😇 a little bit of heaven.

Great job!

It's going to be another lazy day here. I tried reading my morning news and couldn't do it. I might take a news break for a bit. It's just depressing stuff and there's too little I can do. :idunno

So maybe I'll go hang out with my birds today. That's always a sure way to smile ❤️

I have such wonderful neighbors here. One of them knows I love tree trunks and stumps etc. and he showed up with a couple absolutely beautiful trunks for me. They're old, knarly and twisty😍😍😍. And huge! I'm going to have fun figuring out where to put them!

He also brought me this big old cradle because he thought I might have fun doing something with it. So I'm looking at it and thinking I might try turning it into an outdoor brooder for little chicks, or maybe a nest box...or a planter...or or... something useful and/or fun.

I think Jazzy's hoping I'll just fill it with treats ;)

Pretty darn terrific and a reminder to enjoy the fine things in life.

We have to work at our lawn and it don't come easy lol. A bear to mow and we don't have a sprinkler system. I pull out hoses w/ sprinklers and I have to do 5 @ a time to make the well pump work at its best. Then there is the moving and rolling... it takes me 2 days easy to water and I have to do it 1-2 per week to keep up on things. Lucky us, we have a well and solar so it is free. If not, we would have a beach because we can't count on the rain and it is way too hot.

The babies were pretty thrilled with their day but equally happy to come home last eve. We had a sudden downpour in Kekaha and I am sure that helped them be happy to head up to their safe warm brooder, some worms and Forest back on duty.
