It's going to be another lazy day here. I tried reading my morning news and couldn't do it. I might take a news break for a bit. It's just depressing stuff and there's too little I can do.

So maybe I'll go hang out with my birds today. That's always a sure way to smile

I have such wonderful neighbors here. One of them knows I love tree trunks and stumps etc. and he showed up with a couple absolutely beautiful trunks for me. They're old, knarly and twisty. And huge! I'm going to have fun figuring out where to put them!

He also brought me this big old cradle because he thought I might have fun doing something with it. So I'm looking at it and thinking I might try turning it into an outdoor brooder for little chicks, or maybe a nest box...or a planter...or or... something useful and/or fun.View attachment 3257591

I would do a flower planter lol. But I love flowers….I have an OLD stroller that I lined with plastic and filled it with flowers, this year it is sad flowers but flowers just the same. And of course my husband hasn’t even had time to weed eat, so ignore that

Haha, they don't! They are made by a company called Omlet but they remind me of all things IKEA. Well made, not crazy pricey, made with logic and ease in mind, easy to clean...so they just got called IKEA coops because of that!

I'm really late, sorry about that @tropical. I don't think I had any actively crowing roosters when my girls crowed, but this was years ago so maybe? That said, my dad said he thought he heard one of the girls crowing a few weeks ago, but we were joking about how "masculine" she is, plus I never heard it, so he might not have been serious.
I love your growing collections of bags! I'm sure this has been asked before, but do you follow a pattern or just wing it?

It was a quiet day here. Said goodbye to one pair of ducks, almost the last of some porcelain d'uccles I ended up with by mistake, a few more dwarfs and a few oops crossbreed bantams. They all went to the lady who bought a few dwarfs recently and entered them in a show. She seems like a sweetheart so it was nice sending them off with her.

Happy Tuesday friends! Hope you are all doing well. I am in a good mood today...it was breezy and 63 this morning and I sat out with the chickens for almost two hours and even got a bit cold. It was GLORIOUS

I got lots of happy chicken pictures and lap visits

Whoohoo! I'm so glad yall finally got some cooler weather!!! Time with the babies is good for the soul!!!
They are just beautiful!
Ok so education needed...those big ole cheeks! Ameraucanas?
OMGeeze! I need those bred with my Bluey!!! That way they'd have some feathered feet!
Oh and is your MF d'uccle a roo or hen? Absolutely GORGEOUS!!!

Sure have missed my babies and all yall!
Been busy few days with human family here! Not 1 new grandbaby on the way but 2...yep two! BOTH our daughters are pregnant at the same time 3 weeks a part! Insane! And both are girls!!!. We only have grandsons from them both til now! So pretty exciting! Still early but praying for healthy babies and momas and sweet big brothers!!!
Looking forward to much slower day tomorrow with my babies!
