Keeping you on your toes. That is a whole lot of broody. Our ferals don't go broody THAT often and they do it for survival of the species. Better have a talk with that girl.Oh I knew I was gonna ask yall something...have yall ever noticed roughly same amount of weeks pass with a specific hen when she goes broody?
I documented Daisy when she went broody several times and it has been almost 6 weeks to the day each time she has gone broody since layin.
That normal? She's a bantam Satin.
I take being a napkin over the one going through my hair for... who knows what. Dandruff?Did they use you to wipe their beaks? Mine do that all the time - no respect!
U go to.shows...would u classify her as blue mottle? I've got a blue mottle satin roo but he is so much darker than she is...she is really a cool grey color.Stormie is beautiful![]()

Poor poor Jellybeans! I've already read that you got the egg out...so happy! How's she doing now?Good morning gang!
I love lizard ball myself!
Reading what you all feed your chooks is making ME hungry. Mine def arnt that lucky but they do get house fruits and veggies for sure and an afternoon or evening call with a Piñata scratch.
Well, I have my first prolapse and it is bad. Jellybeans has an external egg in her prolapse so needless to say I am beyond concerned. She is a top 5 favorite and losing her will hurt so needless to say- I have my hands full today. Wish us good luck all.
Feral hen is freed. Yippee!!
Today is wet but not awful.
@ChicksnMore YOU ARE AMAZING!!!! Love it and thanks for sharing with us you little creative genius!!
Bet Pikake is glad to have Pepper as a new friend. Might have given her the courage to roost with PepperGood afternoon, so sorry for Jellybean, @TropicalBabies Praying the egg will come out, and treatment will be a success. Poor girl, sounds painful.
Went and took out the divider, and reset their water bucket. They all got to go outside earlier than usual, so I hope they behave. We should hit 51 today, and no rain. Cock E is still cocky and tries to sneak attack, but I've been carrying a lawn rake in with me, and looked like a riot police with the piece of fencing in front of me after taking it out of the coop area. He kinda gave me a confused look. All of them are together again. I think they worked out their roost problem with Pikake, as she was in the big coop last night, as well as Pepper. I do think they remember their returning flock member.
I sprout seeds for me in a glass jar with a screen lid. You have to rinse the seeds several times a day and drain them well. For free seeds, same as what Popomyers said. Just let what you grow go to seed. Keep in mind that lots of plants will cross though...so if you want to gather seed you have to time your plantings to get good seed. I do this with spinach, perilla, radish and collards. Perillas in the mint family though, so when it starts blooming I cut all the blossoms off my mint and treat the chickens with them. Also, if you pick the outside leaves but don't pull up the plant, you can extend your harvest for a long long time and get seeds to boot. For grains...you might enjoy sorghum. It's easy to grow and I think pretty tasty. So, how would you use broccoli or kale or even radish as micro seeds? Maybe I’m reading into it too much to understand. I normally give them this from my garden when it is up and going but the micro greens I guess has me stumped. I mean, I have seen the micro seeds on Amazon but how would I go about having my own seeds without buying it. Maybe there really isn’t but figured I would ask.
OMGooooooodness!!! Got it! A true Christmas miracle ♡♡♡ a double yoke soft shell. Gosh, thought it was a tumor. Was able to flush and work it out far enough to puncture and empty the soft shell and pull it out. Sooooooooooooooooo HAPPY!!!![]()

it’s the most nutritious plant one can eat!!!They sell stinging nettle at our farmers market. I can’t believe people actually eat that. I can’t even touch it.
