What did you do with your flock today?

We have the same rain boots. :highfive:
I’ve seen several people on here with them!
Just a little slice of heaven peeps. So nice to get a rooster fix. Such gorgeous creatures 😍 😍 😍 love the contrast with the white duck and green grass- great photos!

True confessions, I have a pair of slip on Sloggers, wanted chicken boots but it is so hot here... couldn't do it. How do they feel and ware?
They seem to wear pretty good! I’ve had mine 7 months and they are starting to spring a leak but mine get daily use in the garden too. I’m probably walking at least 2 miles a day in them. They also got left out damp when it was extremely cold one night and I think that is what caused the leak.

We live in the Pacific Northwest, so a little of everything! I was planning on 8' sloping to 6', but the ground naturally slopes and we have 8'+ at both ends, lol. I'm happy about it, my 6'6" tall husband likes that he won't hit his head, even though he claims he will "never go in there for any reason", he's my muscle and WILL be carrying feed bags and such into the run for me! The lower half of the shed (2-story tall) will be our coop (starting work in there tomorrow with help from my 6 and 8 year olds) and have a WiFi enabled auto chicken door to install (my anniversary present) as well as a whole bunch more work to do, lol. The guys claimed they ran out of roofing material today, but I found half a dozen still leaned up against the house, so not sure why they thought they were done! I'm excited to get fencing up and start decorating! I have a concrete bench going on the outside and some planters to hang outside the run, lots of garden type stuff to add that's been stuffed away in the shed since forever ago. The chicks are set to hatch/ship in 3 weeks, so I figure I have about 7 weeks to get this done! Kids and hubby are all off this week for Spring Break, so the majority will need to be done before Monday.
Honestly it sounds like a blast! I am so glad you have such fun and capable help, even if they are not the best listeners or have the best eyesight for roofing materials (can happen right??? :gig)
I spied your future coop in the background and am VERY curious as to what you are going to do :popand hoping you post more. It looks like is so odd that is super cool and will make an absolute awesome coop. I personally think the creating of space is one of the funniest parts of chickeniering.

I have had my slip on's for a few years and am not sure of leaks cuz they make my feet sweat lol. Two miles in your boots is a crack up but I have seen some photos of your garden so yeah. Totally believe it. I dream of living somewhere bigger and cooler and having a cool pair of boot sloggers with chicken print. :loveJust too cool.

I've never seen a two-story shed before! But, we bought it with the house 13 years ago and have never used either half for much of anything (my old brooder box is taking up most of the lower half right now, lol. Defineitely lots more photos to come, just got to get them off my phone and onto one of the computers! I'm thimking my laptop as I can take that outside for "school" time for the next 6 weeks...the best part of online public schooling is being done early!
