Beautiful horse there Bring back chicldhood memories ..
I agreed 3/4 acre can house allot of chickens .. I could not care for a horse either.
Lots of chickens.View attachment 3199365View attachment 3199367
Chickens are good for the soul! That's a pretty flock there.
Wow! Your horses are beautiful. Sorry for your losses. No easy thing with the big animals 💔
Jazzy is a stunner, how old?? I'm into spotted horses too. Hombre is a Pintaloosa and I love his butt.

Your kids are running out of the house lol. Good thing you have the birds to distract you and keep your mind busy.

Interesting about you making flour already! If I go into the Kiawe forest that we have in spots I can collect a lot of beans but not sure what to do after that lol. Pancakes huh? 🤔
Jazz is 20 now! Wow how time flies!

For the bean pods...if they're processed the same...we wait til the pods are yellow and drying on the tree. Pick them from the tree and toss any with bug holes. Don't wash. Spread them out either outdoors in the sun or use a dehydrator. When they snap easily and there's no flex at all left... they're dry. We let em dry a little longer just to be sure...lol. My daughter uses a coffee grinder to turn them into flour. Its an old grinder and handles them fine. Then bag and freeze😃 I'm very curious about the Kiawe...if you do make some flour, let me know how it turns out!

Ain't it the truth!
Gorgeous babies they are for sure!

I just got back in from letting the Silkies play around with the d'uccles and the Satins....but Joey decided to be a bootyhead again!
He sneaks up on em...all of em. But this time a baby! Grabs it by the head and shakes it like a ragdoll!
Ugh! Out of the coop he went! After I held him down!
Can't get any help with moving the old smaller coop so a dragging it I went!
Made it around the big coop...pulled back the hardware cloth so I can butt the small coop up against the run.
Need to cut couple ventilation triangles on front and back of it then reattach the extended run to it and tighten up some screws here and there and bachelor pad for one hormonal cockrel comin up!
I'll let him out to do morning chores with me like I normally do. But I'm thinking leave him in bachelor pad til Daisy and Lizzy start laying...round a month or so.
What do yall think?

It is super easy!
My youngest loves her and rides her some still. When I mentioned my thoughts on rehoming the horses and why...she's the one who popped up and said she'd take over the horse care. So she's the one cleaning up the poop etc for the last couple of years. When we lost the other horses, I brought up rehoming again and my youngest says no please still.
Jazz is mostly an overgrown dog at this point though. She wanders the yard and stares over the garden fence asking for scritches and treats. She likes her scritches and will scratch your back with her mouth while you work her over.

That sounds like a good plan. Wow...moving that little coop by yourself must have been a labor of love! It looks heavy! Gotta love ingenious women❤️
