Thanks tropical, i hope your flock is thriving! We are here in CT where its 42 this morning. Not sure I'll get used to this cold, but i will i suppose. Early morning free range is so important to us. Nows the time i wish they would all jump on my lap with all that warmth

Those raised beds were free?? Score!! Those look like super nice boxes! It’s so nice of the chickens to help with do the prep too!

Yea, a place down the road called lineweber does shipping or something and last year i kept driving by a single 'wood box' imagining uses, and after 6 months, called and they said to take it. I sanded that one and added some paint. (Pics). A month ago there were 3 more with 'free' signs! I took all 3. I could probably paint them and sell them, but wont. The cost of the wood to build these would be insane. I was even thinking, if I enclosed it, it would make a lovely brooder! I love recycling free things and creating a purposeful item

I bet the leaves look amazing right now. I imagine Connecticut is very charming too with lots of old beautiful builds.
I think I got lost on where you are from that you need to get used to the cold. What would bring you to CT?
My flock has really been terrific, busting at the seams but terrific. Hopefully, a few littles will get picked up this week and ease some pressure and work load.

Today I drop my bag stand off and feeling rather hopeful.

That is awesome they have those for free! What a great find and smart ideas for repurposing! Also, your Wyandotte is beautiful!!
