What did you do with your flock today?

Today's our last day in Washington and then we start a slow, sight seeing drive home. We got to see my nephew and his new baby yesterday, visited my brother and his new family the day before, and did a little shopping as well.

I am intensely tired but so happy...lol. Hoping to get to sleep early tonight as tomorrows a driving day.

Here's a pic of a herd of big horn sheep we got to see. These guys are wild and totally unafraid of people.View attachment 3294437
Fun!! I’ve never seen them in the wild, how cool! Drive safe and enjoy!

Oh my goodness everyone was up late on a school night. Don't know how you young things do it.
Sorry about feeling down @FBMcrazy8 hope it is nothing and passes quickly.
At the moment, it's great fun watching my little Cochin bantam roo...
Oh he is handsome! Right up @kurby22 's lane with all those splashes ♡♡♡ I'm also loving your dishes behind him 🤣 Sorry, just so charming. Eye candy infront of eye candy for me.

What a beautiful adventure ♡ Shocking to see such a normally shy animal up so close and relaxed. Obviously protected...? I hope your visits were fun and you catch up on your rest quickly. I bet you are getting anxious to go home and see your lovelies. Stay safe 🤗 give the girls my aloha.

Yall I quickly read through all I missed...everyone is so busy!
@kurby22 you did auto shut doors on coop? My run and coop are all together and secured by ½" hardware cloth and caribeaner locks on all 3 doors. So I've been leaving the coop door that goes to the run open all the time cuz my knuckle heads all sleep everywhere!
Don't yall think that's ok? I mean. Obviously if they get through the hardware cloth it's all breached anyways.
@TropicalBabies yeah I never heard of that fruit either! Gorgeous pics of your babies!
@ChicksnMore yall are getting a good vacation and family time in - enjoy!!!
@Shetland lover that is one gorgeous fellow there!

Yes, I have a coop like that as well. All hardware cloth, coop and run are all usable day and night. I have buried hardware cloth and it's surrounded by patio pavers and cinder blocks. I am sure that your very naughty chickens will be safe in their Fort Knox coop/run! The rest are in coops only at night and on very bad weather days and that is very short in time and their runs are not at all secure, so the auto doors are really important!

Oh I see... I wanted to make sure I wasn't opening myself up for trouble by leaving it open.
I've got the windows open and all a sudden i hear the alarm sounding from every single one of em down there so I holler what's wrong babies?
No response but more alarms
So (I leave the pasta sauce on low, vacuum cleaner in the floor, wet towels everywhere from where I knocked a huge bottle of vanilla-my last one from mexico! out of the top of the cabinet into tile floor and it literally shattered and went halfway across the house everywhere! Grandson that crawls comes tomorrow!
I digress...
Go down to the coop to find another cantaloupe had fallen from the run into the compost pile and they go bazurk!
So I pulled the rest of the vines down since we r to have big freeze tonight and realize the cantaloupes have left me with quite a gap in the overlapping of the hardware cloth that if a cantaloupe could come up and grow through then anything could!
So I gotta fix that!

The image in my head of all of them squawking over the cantaloupe makes me giggle :D I'm sorry though that you had a moment of panic like that though, I hate that!
