What did you do with your flock today?

That is just so funny! 😂 Nohope is just so pretty!

I’m honestly kind of jealous of you and @TropicalBabies and all your guys’ awesome roosters. I’m hopeful one day my boy will be like your guys’. Or maybe one of his offspring…
Thanks! He’s so gentle! Orpingtons are sort of hit or miss, so I feel lucky! I guess if you get enough roosters you’re bound to get a couple really good ones 😆😆

Well, they are all good, tasty or not. I hope my two cockerels don't become ninja attack roos like my first Sapphire Gem one. They are his kids. Fingers crossed. So far, at 12 + weeks, they are still afraid of me. Broody raised.

I have and constantly do and think a higher fence and peace of mind is terrific. For me it is part of the fun- staying active, present and ever evolving with our flocks ♡.
What surprised me, as an adult raising chickens is all of the constant work. Good work.
What predators are on Kauai, other than human and dog?

Ugh that sounds awful! Hopefully today is better for you!!!

Yall I had a big long post here last night ... mostly whining ...yeah I'll spare yall the details cuz after that post and another with zero replies I decided to delete my whinin.
As I sit here with Joey in garage ICU I'm reminded of how I am taken care of and loved by God Almighty...even when I feel all alone, like noone gives a crap, etc.
This ole bootyhead has done a lot of well...bootyhead stuff and yet I still luv him.
Just need some hugs, prayers n care myself.
(((())))🙏🙏🙏🙏 We are never alone. Amen.

Wow, I was off on a cruise last week, and so much to catch up on. No signal or WiFi onboard or on shore in Alaska. Anyhow, it is finally raining here, so some outdoor projects are on hold. The new runs' posts are cemented in, just haven't gotten the fencing yet. All the flock groups seem to have settled the pecking order, now that all 16 are together. Littles are 12+ weeks old. My Gamma (Golden Comet) passed away a couple days ago. She had liver disease and had been declining for a few weeks. Someone here has feed bags on the side of their run, great idea! I might just have to sew them together for a nice long wind/rain break. They eventually break down in the 🌞, but, hey, repurposing is good. DH might not approve, though. We'll see. I have to get it done before having hand surgery scheduled, and out off commission for a few months for recovery.
