A great treatment for lice and mites is organic, Captain Jack's Dead Bug Brew. Off label use, dilute 1:4 parts water in spray bottle. Spinosad is the active ingredient. Also good for gardening as well.

Of course! WelcomeHello may I join you guys?
Tiny velociraptors! I love 'em! Great idea to help your son tooWell today I went and did a crazy thing…but for a good reason haha. I have been trying to find ways to incorporate my son more into our 4-H stuff. He needs to build up a confidence around people and animals always help kids with that in my opinion! But he gets super nervous about handling them and I have heard from several people that Modern Game Bantams are the chicken to use for young kids in 4-H. I have had zero interest in them because I like fat, fluffy, bearded chickens! So someone was selling some today and I decided to try them out.So far it seems like a good idea! My son spent all night with the rooster while he watched TV and he never wants to do that with our other birds.? So behold—Compy, Yoshi, and Zilla!

They are soooo tiny!and weird!
He is just so pretty!!! I have to live through you all on some of these chickens. I want to many different ones that if my husband only knew, he would be in panic mode thinking I’m going to be buying a bunch of chickensIt was nice spending some chit chat time with hubby! That's a rare treat here. He's off watching sports now so I'm hanging out with Snug. He's still changing colors but starting to get an idea of what he'll look like grown up. He's going to be a subdued but colorful boy. So far he has white, buff, orange, grey, black...and his green iridescent is just starting to come in on a few tail feathers. Hoping he gets the blue and purple iridescent some of my roos do too.View attachment 3429080View attachment 3429081View attachment 3429082View attachment 3429083

Can't wait to see pics! And adult time...nice!Got my window trim up on the joined coops and asphalt painted onto the yokos coop today. Too tired to bother with pictures thoughEverything is now black on the yokos coop though so, um...ya. I'll have to see if I have enough of any paint left to fix that! Maybe if I sponge some white on and then sponge blue over it I'll have enough to paint some of the yokos coop prettier.
Very quiet here tonight. Oldest is on her way home from her trip to Kansas, youngest is off to work. So just me and DH enjoying a little quiet time.![]()
Oh no! Super glad u picked up on it asap! Sure hope you are able to contain it!As I was doing my sewing thing this morning I noticed a young feral hen acting kind of goofy so I got a better look at her and could see she was not well. Not puffed and sick but something was off. I cornered her and captured her and could see she had swelling above her eyes, maybe pox, not surprising. Then I saw a mite and thought I'd spray her, keep her and pump her with vitamins and then let her go when she was 100%. After spraying her the mites are having a mass exodus, goodness they are soooo bad. She must have been brooding and abandoned her nest because of it. Well glad I got her and can fix her but now I know there is an infestation somewhere probably next door... so probably going to have to scub my coops sooner than I thought I was going to have to lolView attachment 3428977
My flock is going to get their butts sprayed tonight!
