Tonight we were stargazing. We built an observatory 14, 15 or so years ago. Today when we went to open it up, we discovered one of the wenchs for rolling the roof off had pulled loose. The 2x6 under it had split. Luckily our oldest fixed it up for us in no time.
My daughter took star pictures with her phone...had no idea you could do that much with a phone camera.
And she got a picture of hubby up on the stepladder smoking a cigar while he looks around.
Here's hubby's favorite telescope. We bought that one together back before we even married. It was so crazy heavy, so we tore it apart and rebuilt it with a light oak frame and a cloth sleeve that attaches to create the tube. We've gotten lazy about sleeving it though...lol.
We're getting old... didn't bother tubing the telescope and called it quits at 10.
. But got to see a couple galaxies and tomorrow we'll go longer without having had to spend the day opening and cleaning it. Then Sunday we'll close it back up until next time.
