We're expecting temperatures to drop down into the 20s (F) so I redid my winter waterer.

Packed with clean straw for insulation

I can pop out the ice that forms on the top, no damage to the rubber tub.

And then my flock enjoyed some fresh straw to scratch and collard leaves to eat!

Chickens are still up Koke'e with my son. So, I'm still an orphan.

Soon, soon they will come home and i will be a chicken mom again. Weather is still warm, so we still have a little bit longer.

New framed shade structure almost finished. Next, new fence posts. Can hardly wait ♡.
My foster kitty count is up to 18. Our kitty family is up to 7. We lost Marley and adopted Cosmo, aka Braddah Giz

Princess Piko the Christmas Pirate may be a foster fail. Not sure i can part with her...

And I am still actively looking for Forest Kitty every night by feeding bait stations where I also TNR. I have returned 3 kitties to their people and fixed quite a few more kitties and helped.... many. Good work.
I have not been able to get back to sewing bags as it is still too sad for me. Sewing was a me and Forest thing... soon though.

Sat In The run all day tryna stop my original 5x 6 or 7 month old ISA brown hens from attacking my new 5x 4 month old black tails and I think gold comet hens all day n night like the past few days or week since tried to introduce em.. my ISA browns are not the docile friendly breed that they are painted to be it appears.. good egg layers tho.. still getting like 3 eggs a day at mo from my 5x 6 or 7 months old isa browns even middle of winter like now in UK temps 1c to 6c average.. jusy got a house light in there coop on a timer for 16 hours daylight..

Awe ♡♡♡♡ I have been so sad and tired.... not so amazing.... but I keep putting one foot infront of the other and try to do some good. I can't wait to have my chickens home ♡♡♡ I also ordered 4 Ameraucana chicks! Just not sure when they will be making it in. Also hope to pick up some SLW's ♡♡♡ flock fresheners!!

So good to hear from you! You've been missed. So sorry to hear you lost Marley and haven't been re-united with Forest, yet! I'm still thinking of him and sending good thoughts to the universe for his safe return. Your new kitties are too cute for words

I'm sure things will feel better when the chickens are home - life is always better with our feathered friends. And so exciting to get newbies! DH is still not budging in his stance on increasing my flock...
