What did your chickens do today?

My silkie rooster was trying to chase me and scare me but i just pick him up and he stops. Hes trying to act tough but its not working. My hens were free range today. Then they went in and layed eggs.

My Leghorn girls, Steve and Tweety, (don't ask...that's what my kids named them ) found their first worm today. Steve actually found it first. Tweety noticed and began chasing Steve to try and steal the worm for herself. We had such a good laugh watching their little "game" until Tweety finally got hold of part of Steve's worm which then ripped in half. The girls stared at one another for a few seconds not knowing what had just happened but then they both gobbled their worm halves like that was the best treat ever.

My 4 week old splash Cochin jumped up to get a leaf off a bush, but the leaf didn't let go right away so this little chick is just swinging from the bush sooo funny had to giggle

This little one proved his manhood today by crowing for the first time!

I think it is that time for every one's roosters, they all seem to be going off. My rooster is also kind of new to the game.

My 6 week old girls stayed in their coop today due to all the rain but they enjoyed their free ranging yesterday.

all the hens were outside today because the coop was so hot inside forgot to open the window....

it was 85 degrees

I went to the dollar storemtoday and bought a kids butterfly net to catch a few of the zillion grasshoppers that live on my hill outback. I only caught 1. But the chickins had their first bite of grasshopper! I think each one had it in its mouth at least once. I love watchin em try to flee the seen when its "their turn" to hold the treat! Awesome.

Apparently my hens and roo got brave today and ventured across the road while I was in the house. I never seen them, but a neighbour out for a walk with her grandchildren told me. I think I'm going to blame it on the children! LOL
