What did your chickens do today?

My chickens are having a day outdoors. Gracie, being broody and madder than H E double L at being forced to spend time outdoors in the sunshine decided to leave Liza to hunt bugs on her own. For some reason Gracie really likes one of my cats. Its mutual with the cat sleeping next to her crate at night too. I don't trust my cat enough to actually leave the crate open all night ... but they do seem to have bonded :)

Ignore the mess .. Ive given up pushing the bark back into this bed every twenty minutes. It seems the moment I clean it up it suddenly has to be scratched out and flung all over the patio again anyways.

My 15 wk bantam cornish roo Bulldog found his voice this evening! It's worse than Hellion's and about 10 times louder.

Luckily I had my camera with me as I went to visit everybody.

Lol He looks freaky in this picture...also I've been noticing a lot of feathers in their run recently but when I check everybody looks just fine, no balding area's. What gives?
He looks like he's directing the choir!

Went to check for eggs. Bent over to grab their treat and momma(our only Bo) decided she would perch on my back while I was bent over! Was not about to get off! Normally she waits til I sit on my log to jump in my lap impatient girl!

I sat in the coop with the chicks today and they all hung out around me. At one point I had 10 on me at the same time including one of my little cinnamon girls sitting on my shoulder. Individually they don't seem very big or heavy until you have that many on you at one time and then it adds up. They will be 3 months old on Tuesday and some are getting pretty big now. It is still hard to believe they are the same little chicks that I brought home a few months back.

Another cinnamon saw the sparkle of my glasses and tried to peck at them but she got my eye instead. I'm still feeling the effects of that one. She's a sweet little girl and after she saw me flinch she shimmied up my arm and lean in really close and put her head on my chest. Needless to say I was gunshy at that point and didn't really want her that close to my face but she sat there for another half hour or so and it didn't happen again.

Getting poked in the eye was one of the nicest things that happened tonight lol but the rest didn't involve the chicks.

My girls had watermelon today and scratched and laid around in the new hay straw I put out for them. And of course I loved watching them!
iamjohn...My Milly got me in the eye a couple of weeks ago and it took a couple of days before it felt normal again. I feel your pain...it really hurt.
