What did your chickens do today?

Crowed, clucked, pecked, pooped and sunbathed for the first time in a couple days. I'm getting sick of the rain. I have to say I love having 2 roosters. Both bantams and at 445-5am they start crowing. I wake up long enough to listen to it for a minute then fall right back to sleep (if I'm not working early that day) since they're not overly loud. Hope my EE Roo will be around the same level when he starts crowing. lol

TODAY, I trustingly let my flock out to free range while I went to work (forecast is sunny for the next week [a weird thing in Michigan]) and though "eh, what could it hurt." Ended up getting out a few hours early, and come home to a wrecked garden. I turned the soaker hoses on when I left this morning to water the garden, which sometimes forms little puddles where it takes a while to soak into the clay.

You can imagine how much the ducks LOVED that. :/ A few heads of lettuce are toast, and both the ducks and chickens picked most of the leaves off my corn.

Jerks.

Anyone have something that keeps them out of there? They could easily jump any sort of fencing I might have.
I use fencing..metal stand up so the rabbits and chickens can't get into my strawberries. It works really well. Our grape vines get eaten as the fencing is flexible and they just jump on it, collapse it to get what they want.

After I posted that, I found them out there again! Did just as much damage to everything else. I was fuming angry so I chased them then ran to Menards and got some snow fence. I also poured vinegar around the whole garden. Putting the fence up today...and I didn't let them out the free range. They are confined to the run today...

Lol awwww
Ganged up on my sweet girl, so i blu-koted and made things worse. So i went ahead and sprayed more hoping it would blend more, but it doesn't work on Blondie :(

A number of my roos have accepted me as the boss and they do cute things like vie for my attention and get jealous if I petted one but not another. I also had a couple roos that looked at me the wrong way and my king roo, Teddy, would run up and push them away instead of letting them get close to me and possibly peck at me. Teddy runs at the other roos like a football player and tackles them if they get close to me.

Teddy

The girl that has no name. Probably the sweetest hen in the group.

I suspect my RSL Lady and my huge single comb and wattles SLW Wilma as they were the only 2 to greet me in the coop today. They were both acting very jolly too as well they should! They're 18 1/2 weeks.

They look so perfect! I'm so proud of my girls!

Edit: They're the front 2 in my avatar though its a old picture. AND my EE Roo Sebastian crowed for the first time! I'm having a great day off!
