What did your chickens do today?

My boys and girls are enjoying the sun after a few cloudy cool days.

Hellion making sure he tans all the way around. lol

Thanks so much for sharing the pictures. They look so happy! I love it when my feathered kids to this. I thought I was going to die laughing the first time I put my oldest batch of Lorps out in their small play pens in the yard. Within seconds all six of them flopped to their side looking like they were going to burst into flames like little vampires in the sun.

Today five of my biggest trouble makers got into the barn when the door was cracked when I wasn't looking.. they then successfully managed to knock over half a bag of laying feed, crawl inside, and have a feast.. they then preceded to scratch at the pile of spilled food and spread it across the entire barn

Hahahahahahaha, now THAT is chicken activity!!!!!

My Rooster started crowing for the first time last week. It doesn't completly sound right, but he's trying. I also saw him force himself on a hen for the first time yesterday. Maybe they'll start laying before long. lol

I have 11. I let them all out at ounce. I was scared the first time, but they stay pretty close and all went back in pretty easy. I let them out about an hour before roost time.

My girls house should be ready by this weekend and I will be wanting to let them out in the evening to 'stretch their legs' and I want to time it around roosting time but right now they are in my garage and with the comings and goings of the family at different hours.....not sure they have developed a 'roosting' time. Guess i will have to keep them in for a few days and pay attention to what time they decide to roost.

lol. Today, I let 3 hens out at the same time for about an hour and guess what?! I had to leave the property and they all went in when I opened the run door! Couldn't wait to tell the others about the big world out there. haha Going now to let 3 more out for a few hours before roosting time.

They gotta get out of the run for more space...

They got into the garage and found a shiny button to peck on which just happened to be the power button to my husbands air compressor. I've never seen my chickens move so fast when they turned it on! Hilarious :)
