What did your chickens do today?

My rooster now makes me put him to bed because he's too lazy to fly up on the roost pole and he is very picky about who he sleeps by. Lol

That's so funny. My five month old roo also makes me put him to bed. He is penned with six Black Lorp pullets and has just started pitching a fit in the evenings to be put with the chicks in the coop next to him and his girls. They all stay in the "yard pen" during the day together. I'm assuming he has gotten attached to the younger ones as well.

Very cute :)

My biggest rooster, Teddy, was teaching the others to crow. He'd start off with a good one and then another would try and then the next. A couple caught on but a few have a really weak crow but it is cute to hear.

Mine is crowing now too but he sounds more like a strangled turkey right now. My husband went outside with a ball bat because he thought there was a buzzard out there after the chickens but it was only Pigpen trying to crow lol

ROFL. I have some that honk like geese. I keep looking around and then seeing one of the roosters trying his hardest to sound like the big boy.

I only have two chickens and they are the family pets so they get a lot of attention. They are still at the in between peep peep cluck honk stage. They honk when they get startled and my daughter found out that if you pinch Pookie's tail she honks like a dog toy. Lol

hehehe That's great!! Stevie made a sound at me yesterday morning that sounded like a dog yelping. He was ready for me to open the gate to the coop and let him out.

I made a little run for my 16 day old chicks to get them out in the yard for a bit today. Finally a non-rainy day. They seemed to like it and practiced balancing on a branch.

today i let my girls free range. and my cat jasper decided it would be fun to "hunt"them. he went for jellybean-my big wyandotte girl. she stared him down and pecked his head. my girls have no fear.haha (jasper does now thou.haha)

My 7 year old son come to the coop with me three times a day. Everyday. And hand feed all the chicks and "teenage chicks". Today evidentially he wasn't fast enough and one of the teenage chicks, extra crispy, decided his ear lobe looked tasty! Lol but he took it in stride and covered his ear with one hand and continued to hold the ther and out with mealworms for them was too funny to see the look on his face!
