What did your chickens do today?

Oh no! :( Every day, I worry that I will lose another one. It's been a year since the last Coyote took Cocoa Puff from us and we were home at the time....sorry for your loss....
 
This morning JamJam flew the Coop. She's been given her own fenced in coop under a big Magnolia Tree, but today she decided she wanted out of it when she saw me let the other hens out, she flew out. It's a temporary holding area with a Dog Carrier she sleeps in.She can come and go when she wants but she was being so mean and disruptive to the babies (9month olds ) that she had to be removed. Now I have to wait and see where she goes to sleep tonight because LaLa, ChaCha, Jessica and Betty and Boops are all getting along beautifully without her and I was able to finally remove the "baby" gate inside their long coop. Madonna goes to her own private Coop already...waiting for night fall :)
 
Chickens played, ate, walked, squawked, pooped, drank, ran around, and did all those chicken things but all IN THE MUD today.

It's been raining for about 5days and the chicken yard has never been so slippery, squishy, and stinky as right now. It is saturated. What a mess - and the chickens bellies and bums are messy, too. I have to actually hold on to something so I don't fall down! YUK!
 
Ok so I bought diapers so Lucy could come inside with Pigpen. I bought one for him even though he uses the towel cuz I didn't want Lucy to feel like an idiot. They were made by lovemychix and they are adorable. However, 45 minutes later I had a room full of feathers and two broken chickens. Pigpen was laying on his side with one wing sticking straight up and a foot in the pouch and Lucy somehow got hers flipped upside down where the pouch went over her head and she walked into the wall and fell over. I wanted to take a picture but it was too dark. I never laughed so hard in my life! Needless to say they are both pretty ticked off at me :/

Bahahaha that would be worth setting up the video camera and letting it roll, bringing them in and doing it all over again.
 
My 6 went out into the yard today and are spending their first night in their coop - seeing as the temps are nice out!













They are locked up nice and tight for the night now!
