ok, real fast post, cause I am late to work, here's the scoop:
Janis is about 2 years old, she is having a hard time eating food, she picks it up but can't seem to move it to the back of her mouth and swallow. She has clear fluid coming out of her mouth. Nostrils are dry and eyes are fine. She picks up a piece of food, it hangs at the end of her beak, drool comes out and she shakes it out (fluid and food). She used to be very talkative and now she barely speaks, when she pecks at food in my hand, it's a very weak peck. She wont even eat BREAD! I don't know what to do for her. it is an upper respiratory thing? or is it a beak problem? Do I try trimming the beak? I just don't know where to begin. She is getting weak since she can't get much, if any, food down. Her stools are normal, but decreasing since she isn't eating normally. I have seen her drink and even that looks difficult for her, but it seems she can get the water down.
any suggestions? I wish I could take her to a vet!
