I don't think you are doing this chick any favors if you hand feed it. I'm pretty compassionate about my pets, but after having chickens for a few years, I now will not ever try to help a chick out of an egg. I will use a bandaid for splay leg, but if a chick can't get around after a day or two, it should be culled. Don't beat yourself up.
