WHAT DO I DO???? PLZ look...hatching now need immed. info

OMG it is so cute!!!!!!!! But, so SAD! one of them screams for me the entire time I am not there. If I put my hand in, she crawls in and falls asleep. As soon as I walk away from the brooder....she screams. We can hear her two floors up! I think I am in love!!!!!!!!!!! I did grab 3. Humidity never changed for a second. I tried dipping their beaks in, but, they weren't too interested yet. They do nibble at the shavings, but, they are right next to the starter food so...

That's hilarious; I love it!

They aren't too interested in food at first. If you scramble some eggs (so Soylent Green, I know) and hold a bit in your fingers and cluck, they'll run up and peck at it. Momma hen finds them food and picks it up in her beak for them while clucking, they respond instinctively. I hand feed mine a little every day while they're growing up to keep them tame.

Ok... First things first... Take out BOTH vent plugs...

Second, Are you SURE your hygrometer is correct? What hygrometer are you using and did you calibrate it before you used it? Sounds like it may be off a "bit"...

If everyone is still hatching out fine, just keep the vent plugs out for now and do not add ANY water.. The hatching chicks will keep the humidity up until they stop hatching...

the hydrogmeter is correct....After I took some to the brooder, it came down to 74% eventually and the others are in there OK. One is definately stuck, I am pretty sure of it. It pipped and bled, but, it made it through the night and it just picking atthe same hole over and over and yelling. not sure what to do.....

As far as teh humidity, I did take out the vent plugs and it stayed high so I am sure that that helped as it was REALLY high...thought it might rain in there! I have several that were moving on day 25 and now are not pipping at all...

ok honestly i dont know if this is good or not ..but its what i have done to set my mind at ease when i have some that piped and then i see no movement for a long time...
I take my flashlight and shine it on the egg through the window...I only have to hold it there for a min. and if that egg is still alive the light makes the chick move,,you see the eggs move...

OK so I took advice from someone earlier on this or another post, I can't remember, but, I cranked the heat and the shower and brought a humidistat in with me in the bathroom...took the crew/incubator in there and am SO glad that I helped that one out. I also cracked a little bit around the pip for the three others that seem to be a bit behind. I left them in as you could see the blood vessels still right up around them, but, this way they could move a bit forward. That little one screamed until I enabled it to pop out. It was a different type of noise than yesterday's chirp and as soon as it was able to get out, it stopped. I don't believe it would have made it out if I didn't help. I also believe that that noise it made would be made to its mother! I could tell the difference, I swear. Sounds crazy, I know! Anyway, he/she is out. BOY>>>THIS IS NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART! After I was done....my knees were SO WOBBLY! I am going to post this on another thread that I have going somewhere for the other person who asked. Take care all!
