What do i use to catch my chickens when they escape

I've tried herding just a flock of four chickens.... LOL didn't go well.

I herd them one at a time lol

Are you asking for away to catch them for a one time escape? They most likely will come back to the coop at dark.

i honestly just shake the container of mealworms i keep in the coop cupboard and they come running but if i’m out of mealies, i usually heard them in or pick one up and the rest follows me back. you should definitely get your chooks used to the sound of treats! it comes in very handy

About 2 years now. But I started learning before then...

Mine won't go too far from me (sometimes preferring to stand ON my feet) but worst case, one of my dogs is really good at herding them if one goes astray. She's gentle but commanding and they don't mess around with her on the job. But mostly, they stalk me because I am the lady that brings the food stuffs. Can you toss a handful of mealworms into the run? Or make them a trail of treats back to where you want them?
