I had a problem lately with my quails as they weren't not laying eggs .But I soon noticed that they were kept bullied by my hens and roosters...
Now I want them to relax before they are moved in their new just for them paddock but first I need to build it.now I am keeping them in my house in a spare room. They are so quiet tho, squished together in one corner,But they have the whole room for them selves.I know theyight still be in shock and they are still adapting to their new surroundings but it would help if I could know what attractions can I use to make them happy eg.dust bath. but most important what things will I feed them to make a good start with laying eggs?.will I add hiding spots like piles of hay?And feed them sunflower seeds ...ofc u know better

A balanced diet is the number one important thing.
Can you not buy chicken layer feed at your feed store?

I do have it but I didn't know if it dose for quails
Is it pellets or crumbles?
If pellets you can put some in a ziplock bag and smash it up just a little with a hammer.

Stop feeding the sunflower seeds immediately and give them the layer chicken feed.

you can't feed quail, at least Coturnix, chicken feed. They need a higher protein either game bird or turkey feed. You can get away with a meet bird feed if you can get it with protein at least 20%. Most turkey or gamebird will be in the 28 to 30% range and should have a calcium in the 1.5 to 2 range.

Also not sure the amount of sun you're getting but if you don't have 14 to 16 hours a day you're going to need to add light or they won't lay.

Good luck.

Yeah courtaix need turkey or game feed with higher protein then chicken layer feed if u do use chicken layer then u need to supplement extra protein into their diet they will need plenty day light like has been said xx

Quail need a secure environment, feed above 20% protein, 3% calcium, or as much supplemental calcium as you can give them (crushed oyster shell, eggshells). Layer chicken feed is a start, since sunflower seeds are definitely nutritionally deficient, but you will need to get a high protein crumble as soon as possible. 12-16 hours of light per day, artificial or natural will work. If you’ve just brought them indoors and they’re acting scared, don’t expect eggs soon.
It’s also likely that since you’re in the Northern hemisphere and you’re keeping birds outdoors with no supplemental light, they are in winter condition which means they won’t lay until there is more daylight and better food. I let mine molt this year, I stopped getting eggs from most of them in November and they still haven’t started laying yet.
Do you know how many males to females you have?
How badly injured are the ones that were getting pecked?

This is nonsense.
You can to feed quail chicken layer feed.

They only need the high protein feed for the first 6 to 8 weeks of life.
Opie says his birds are a year and a half old I believe.

This is not true.
