I'm an English major and a professional writer. It's my job to be obnoxious about things like that. Especially when you live in Texas, and people think it is okay to put crap on the website for the university like "I didn't come here for the book learning, I came for the pretty girls." Or, "I wanted to see if everything was really bigger in Texas."

I'm married to an English major and professional writer, so I get it.

That would be "went through " not "to" major

No, what rubs me the wrong way is when there is a perfectly good word, like crop, that for literally no reason other than people are too busy making sure they mentally live like someone from Little House on the Prairie, decided to make the word craw. It is still four letters. And changing it serves no purpose. Saltwater crocodile being shortened to "salties" however does cut down on time both verbally and written, when carrying on a conversation in a non-educational format.

So wouldn't that be no different or even not as bad as say someone taking the word rabbit or bunny and deciding it should be changed to floofer? Floofer is more letters.
Or calling something that is cute or cool, dumb?
I mean that's taking a word with a known meaning and trying to assign it to something that has a proper word for it. For real, what sense does that make?
Were people from LHOTP mentally challenged or something? I would of loved to live in that time and place.

I feel like I went from the frying pan into the fire.
