What do you collect your eggs in?

thanks everyone! We will only be keeping 6 pullets (or 5 if we have a roo

) so we don't *need* anything too big or fancy but I *want* something cute and fancy.

I love the different wire egg baskets posted and I like the idea of hanging it up to fill and also bringing it at the end of the day.

I just use a milk carton that I've cut a hole out of the side big enough for my hand.
But I only have 7 hens and they aren't all laying yet so only 3-5 eggs/day.

To collect my eggs I got and antique egg basket from my grandma and grandpa's farm

I have used a variety of things through the years. The worst by far is my pockets.
I use gallon cans for feeding and since there is always some handy I usually gather eggs in them.

My girls are still seven or eight weeks away from laying, but with just three hens I don't think I'll need more than my left hand to hold the daily harvest!

Yep, pockets=bad idea.

So you're a member of the scrambled pocket club too, eh?

I use an Easter basket. But if I could pick up those egg baskets at a yard sale that cheap, I'd be all over it!

Usually I have a few buckets that double as feed buckets to put the eggs in. Have done the scrambled egg in the pocket trick but when the kids do it I chuckle.

I wouldn't get to worried about the carrier just find what works for you... Ice cream buckets and feed buckets work well for us.

I use an ice cream bucket, treats go out in it,and eggs come in, nice trade.
