What Do You Crave???

Sorry! I make up for lost time now when I can get them/afford them! What can I say, I was a picky eater and afraid to try anything new. And don't blame me for bringing them up, that was all you!!

I sure wish I craved oysters. Oyster beds are a 3-minute walk from my house and a shellfishing license is cheap for residents. And the chickens like eating the remnants in the shells.

Mostly I crave to not have to work full-time doing boring stuff for a living.

So for the rest of us plain prairie folk you are going to have to explain what a "steamer" is!

I'm gathering it is some sort of seafood?

They're called steamers because you throw 'em into a steamer basket in a pot of boiling water and they open up right away. The other way to eat shellfish is to pry them open with a clam knife and eat them raw, but that's not usually the way little clams are eaten. It's a lot of work to pry them open, besides, so steaming is easy.

I lost five pounds, now just READING all the stuff on this thread I feel like I gained it all back.

But, I'm absolutely addicted to the following ; The hershey's kisses truffle things, Ghiradelli chocolate squares with the caramel in the middle, and dove chocolate.

The only actual chocolate I'll eat.

Edit;; And for the past six months, I've been craving like crazy oysters on the half shell. MMMMM. I need to get some.. rawr. And thank GOD above crawfish season is almost here.. mmmmmm.

Mmmmmm Oysters. I used to go to a small place on the southern Georgia coast
for all you can eat oysters. We would hurt ourselves eating WAY too many.

Someday I hope a real southerner will teach me hope to eat crawfish. They look so
good but I have no idea what to do with them.

Same here. Remember the ad for some heartburn remedy where there was a guy with a huge pile of them so hot they were steaming up his glasses as he shook hot sauce all over them? I've wanted to know how to eat them since then!

Y'all head on down here, I'll show you what to do with 'em! We've got some friends who farm 'em and said this seasons gonna be real good, cause in November they were already relatively large. Can't WAIT.
