What do you do with leftover Eggnog?

Rum Raisin ice cream! Oh please, tell me where you find it! I adore it, and haven't had any since I was in Ecuador- in 1979!

You were lucky it was bourbon, horrifying as that had to be, my sis drank Clorox thinking it was ginger ale. She hasn't touched either for 53 years! Her whites are rather dingy, come to think of it!

Mayo-nog isn't really a fair description- the store bought stuff can be pretty thick, that's why I thin it with booze. Homemade is much better and not cloying. Miss Prissy has 2 very good recipes in the BYC cookbook.........

If the eggnog was like mayo then something is very wrong. Egg nog is not just for holidays either. It was once made in the heat of summer, dropped into deep cool pools of water and served to men sweating under the summer sun doing hard labor to provide for the families. It is calorie rich but it doesn't have to be alcoholic. It is creamy and doesn't have to be thick but is really good when it is is thick and cold with a little cinnamon and nutmeg on top.

Someone makes rum raisin ice cream in those small tubs, Sally. I'm not sure who, but will check and see and let you know. I used to buy it at Walmart, so must be a national brand. I'm thinking it was Haagen Dazs (sp?).

*** Just checked and yep, this is the one I had, Sally.

Oh, Angie, I'd probably like some good eggnog, LOL. I think that person was saying it was like mayo due to the eggs in it...and it being calorically dense.

LOL, Miss Prissy has ESP about her name and the cookbook!

And she is absolutely correct about eggnog! It is a bit calorie dense, but is so cooling and refreshing in summer. Except for the calories, it is a good nutritional boost.

ETA, thanks Cynthia, I will look next time I go to the city. We don't eat much ice cream, but that brings happy memories!

To me, eggnog is like melted French Vanilla ice cream. If you spoon melted ice cream out of your bowl after you eat the scoops, you'll have no problem enjoying eggnog.

I make eggnog shakes with vanilla ice cream and egg nog in the blender. YUM.
