When making an apple pie, subsitute 1/4 of the shortening in the pie crust with bacon fat....amazing!

Hi,

My brother-in-law (DH's sister's husband) used to dip bread in the hot grease and eat it! I'm not recommending this but I thought I would mention it.

Use it for frying meat. Sometimes we use it for pancakes to give them a meaty flavour.

I agree with the wild bird suet idea.

I do great with:
1 c. bacon fat
1 c. peanut butter
1 c. flour
4 c. corn meal
Mix it well and stuff it in the suet holder or wherever you want. We tried it and got birds we've never seen come to the feeder!
