I already have 8 girls, which I posted a while back. This week I picked up 10 more, so now my total is complete.

I have 2 more barred rocks
2 - buff Brahmas
2- Speckled Sussex
2 - Ameraucanas
2 - Siler - Laced Wyandottes

I love that you bought your breeds in pairs. I find alike breeds seem to toodle around together:

So far our barred rock is the sweetest.

For having gamebird and Malay in their breeding history (it made BRs bulkier as dual purpose) it amazes me that they have stayed sweet with gamebird in their genetics. Dominiques are sweet tempered and Barred Rocks and Doms have a shared history except that Doms were not crossbred to be larger like the BRs were. Lots of owners love their BRs and Doms for their temperament, outgoing personalities, and people-friendly dispositions. I like smaller breeds because I have smaller space so Doms suit me but I've had both Doms and BRs in the past.

These are my two new loves -- rare Blue Breda juveniles shipped to me this week (one arrived with her tail plucked - haha!):







My three other hens - rare Cuckoo Breda, Partridge Silkie, and Black Silkie


Breda are interesting - they have no comb but a triangle tassel where a comb should be, cavernous nostrils, vulture hocks, long tails, and long feathered legs/toes

I've got one coop /pen of bredas 4 black bredas, 4 mottled bredas, 2 silkie breda mixes (plus 9 mottled week old bredas in the house) s, and one coop/pen of a barnyard mix of barnevelder, welsummer, blue laced red wyandotte, tetra, australorp mix, tolbunt polish, 2 ameracaunas, 1 ee mix, 1 rir langshan roo, 2 silkie mixes.

I have 2 buff orpingtons, 2 easter eggers, a barred rock and some sort of bantam X standard mix roo in the coop and 3 RIR, 2 black sex link and a bantam polish in the brooder. The polish is likely to find a new home. It was a cute, mystery chick impulse buy. Hey, it was cute! LOL

Starting to narrow my numbers from the chicks I started this spring (14) - two of them were easy to choose for the "go" list as they turned out to be cockerels - final flock will be:

1 buff orpington
1 barred rock
1 easter egger
1 white leghorn
1 red sex link
and 1 black sex link (the last one is why there will be 7 vs. the planned 6 -- I had planned to sell both the BSL pullets but my father-in-law has taken a particular shine to one of them so I guess she's staying)

Never realized you had so many different breeds! BYC is changing format so we won't be able to leave comments for a few days while the transition is going on. From what I understand there won't be instant comments in the ovation section anymore. Ahhhh! Changes! I hate changes but then it might explain why BYC was no longer compatible with Firefox and my Chrome for the past couple weeks. I guess BYC is trying to keep all the good posts but obviously there are going to be some lost data.

Yea I have a bunch of different breeds. Before I sold a bunch I had legbars. Polish, ee's , barred rocks, more ameracaunas. I had 33 hens and sold a huge amount and in that coop I'm down to 14 chickens.
