What do you mark eggs with? HURRY!

I just got 9 quail eggs in the mail today, can i mark them with a permanent sharpie?
Or does it have to be non-toxic?

I use pencil, non toxic and works. On quail eggs....I'd still use pencil.

Pencil if they're going in the bator, crayon or fine point sharpe if I'm giving them to a broody--the pencil will wear off from the broody hen moving around on top of the eggs..don't ask me how I know.

Yes, definitely fine point sharpie if you're going to be putting them under a broody or messing with them a lot. We were just putting ours in an incubator.
