What Do You Pay For Feed?

so for 50# that's $27.50 sorry I was just trying to convert and compare it to what I use. I have to say though that's alot.

That does seem like a whole lot.
Lets see that would cost me in the winter months about 15.00 a day, 105.00 a week, 420.00 a month.
In the summer about twice that and that wouldn't account for starter/ grower and scratch. Way to much for my blood..
I think I will stick to Buckeye at 9.75 a 50 lb bag and pay 5.27 a day or 147.56 a month and save about 272.44 a month

Just got some feed today. We feed mostly Hienold poultry feed, small feed company based out of Indiana.

17% Layer 50# $10.49
23% Starter 50# $13.39
18% Grower 50# $11.38

Feed is expensive, but we really like this feed.

It seems as though we are all paying pretty close to the same price across the board. We are all in different states to. It's really too bad that everything is getting so expensive. I don't know what we are going to do, it's not just the feed prices either. I don't see a very bright future for Americans these days. Well, not the average American. I'm really hoping prices will stay for a while otherwise my girls will be on rations and just free range.

Try growing your own feed if you have land. Use garden scraps to help out (they love tomatoes, mine does.

) Crack chop is 8 bucks for a 50 lbs sack. I use cleaned out clam shells mashed up fine and powedered milk for laying mash. We also feed them bread scraps and such. Ours free range so we use less feed. My financee's grandma gives us scraps of bread to feed them and they jump in the back of the truck to eat the bread. XD
