Omg so much fun! I have never been here on April Fools day, I can't wait till next year!!!
Really...REALLYWhat would it taste like? I want one.
Well, you could always have a turducken - that's a thing. What would it taste like? I want one.
This is exactly the reason we all advise against keeping drakes in with hens. It is extremely dangerous for a drake to penetrate a chicken hen. Chickens are NOT made to have anything enter their vent. It can be deadly to them. When I was a kid we had a duck in with our chickens. We named him Top Hat because he had a patch of feathers on the top of his head. He would breed with the chickens all the time. We’d see him pin the hens down by the neck and do his business. No idea if anything actually happened down below but he sure as heck attempted it daily. Every now and then we would get an egg that actually looked like a duck egg, bigger than the chickens and a bit more oval.
I’m not saying breeding works, or that the weird eggs we got were actually from the duck/chicken. But I am saying a male duck will try with hens because I’ve seen it.
