What do you think of the new BYC platform?

I use Google Chrome, and havent had any issues with slowness. The pages load fine for me. Im sure it will take me a few days fiddling with everything to get comfy and figure out how to use everything. What I do miss is the link at the bottom of the forums page to go to the forums that Ive posted in. Also like the link for new posts since last visit. If they are here, Id like to find them; if not, Id like them back.

Well, I found them! Bottom right of the forum page, its a drop down menu. Funny the things you find when you actually look.

in my opinion threatening to leave the site isnt going to get you your way... If its that blinding (this new mysterious bright white light that people are complaining about ) than maybe for the health of your eyes you should seek another online community... I think people are nit picking and not being realistic about glitches that are still being worked out.

Yes, that's what I think, too. Easy to say there x number of members, when in reality only a very small percent of those members even post. Many registered members don't even post, or they did post and quit. How many active members are there? So many that the platform had to be changed so drastically? The trade offs sure don't seem worth it..... to me anyway.

You hit the nail on the head, they can brag all they want about the, "almost 115,000 members today" they have but I bet out of the almost 1155,000 members over half dont post or are no longer a member. I would love to see a number of active members.

When I first joined the BYC I found it overwhelming and confusing. I think this new site will be more user friendly to those who are joining for the first time.

Once we all get used to this we are going to LOVE it. Great job and thanks for all your hard work on this. There are a few bugs which are to be expected, but over time this will be a great change!!

I tried Chrome. I hate it! Back to IE. It is slow. Slower than the sandbox, but I know it will get better.

I think maybe you're seeing people in the auction place because they are working on it??? Just my guess. Remember that there will be more changes coming, so maybe just some kindly worded suggestion will work. Maybe not.

So there was a right click spell check? I had tried but never worked. Who knew???

I know that there are a lot of people on here that are more techie than others, but for some of us there are actually things here now that are easier to use.

I think it's too bright to. I know the colors are the same, but there is just tooo much white and I just realized why I've had headaches and my eyes have hurt lately. I was going from the sandbox to the old site, back and forth. Now it's just this and way too much whet.

I was about to lose my platinum membership this last week so paid for it and glad I did. I really didn't mind the adds too much, but I really like that I can turn them off. I'm normally dizzy, so I couldn't deal with them.

I have to say though, out of all the forums I've ever been on, that the the old BYC is still my favorite, but I'm determined to figure this one out. Heck I hadn't even figured out all the old one yet.

The thing I have to work on though is removing my pic. I rarely post any type of pic on line and I hate that pics are public. Bad enough members have had to deal with theirs getting stolen and used, I just really don't like that.

BTW the member pages are here, but that format isn't my favorite either. I want to be able to click a link and check by a member, not take the time to hunt, so I won't. I think I'm invisible on here. Don't like anyone knowing where I am all the time. I like my privacy too much.

It's too bad that the forum can't just be totally separated from the rest of all that junk. It seems to me that would be kinda nice. Maybe it isn't even possible, but anyway.....Just my opinion.........

Very frustrating that it takes so long to load each page....I am on a very fast pc but it is awful....needs to be improved greatly!
