What do you think the next move should be in Vacaville regarding backyard chickens?

Go to your local browser ie google, yahoo. and type in meetup or you should be able to find it www.meetup.com. It will prompt you to type in a subject and your area code. Type in vacaville homestead and your area code the group should pop up. There will be an icon on the right side that says join us. You will be prompted to type in a little information about yourself....nothing to personal. You can see who is in the group, what other meetup have taken place and what other meetups are offered. If you like many of us also belong to the eastbay homestead group as well. Try it and let me know what happens since I am just trying to remember off the top of my head.

Well I had my meeting with Maureen in Planning and Dev. We had a nice chat, but it went about as expected. It seems they have made up their mind and are not interested in even considering the idea that their interpretation is wrong. The only hope for you would be applying for a code change or if someone fights in court and wins after being ordered to get rid of their chickens. I don't think there is any chance of a code change being passed by the council as it exists today. Maybe the upcoming election will bring some new hope.

Well since you can't fight city hall I guess we won't get to have chickens. It was a nice idea, but I can't afford to have these kinds of problems. Signing off.
