Im trying to make Brown Red Rosecombs so I keep switching the cock-birds

Its interesting to see what comes out of each hatch. Right now I'm just keeping track of the dominant genes that appear during each of my hatches. I don't have any particular product in mind, but the genetics are certainly fascinating. My batches with the SLW roo ALL have rose combs regardless of what type of hen cross. I'm finding that the standard traits of some of my hens are apparently recessive because their offspring consistently take on more of the roo's characteristics than the hens.

Super nice! I was thinking of throwing some blue red oegb's in with mine in an attempt at a new color. Im looking for a rosecomb type oegb. what do you think? how many generations before I get back good type?

Have you chatted with Urban Coyote yet? She has excellent rosecombs as well.
