What do you use for brooders?

My husband made me an adjustable brooder out of a 4 X 8 sheet of sign board. Its like plastic cardboard available at building materials stores.
Cut in half the long way then attached on the ends using zip ties (the re-usable ones are best). Then folding it around on itself and attaching it at the size desired using more zip ties.
This way it can be adjusted as the chicks get older and need more room. It can be wiped down and disinfected between uses.
Stands about 24 inches high and can be adjusted to just about any size in circumfrance (up to almost 16 feet).

I also use a small piece cut to line the bottom of my nest boxes so their droppings cant absorb into the wood of the nest box.
Ill also use a piece under my roost to catch the droppings. Ill have to let you know how it stands up to heavy soiling and scraping with this use though.

med size dog kennel with a wire top so I can drop a bulb through. Then when they get bigger they go into a playyard with an igloo dog house inside that, covered with wire, & that's in the chicken coop!

i just have been using a dog kennel not draft free at all but it is in the house and the chicks can easily fit through the bars but for some reason choose not to like they know they are safe inside the bars till i put my hand in to change water the freak scatter and end up on the other side of the bars which they go right back in on there own...ive always found it weird but its happend everytime we raise baby chicks this time i am putting cardboard around the inside edge so i can use shavings instead of news paper

This is my first year using a Brower Brooder.

I love it. It is so much cleaner than all the other set ups I have used with wood chips.

Last August I answered an add for a used sportsman incubator.

The seller mentioned he was getting out of the bird business so I asked about his other equipment.....

He sold me this new brooder for $75!!

I bought everything in site for mere pennies on the dollar. Including 2 more brooders and dozens of new feeders and bell waterers.

My 4-H kid is set for life*!

God surely provides!
