What do YOU use to collect your eggs?

We got 10 different kinds, Leghorns, Wyandottes, Easter Eggers, French Copper Marans, RIR, Black Australorps, Black Sex links, New Hamps, Speckled Sussex, Blue Marans, Ameraucana, Welsummers, & Buff Orpington. Did you got bored yet ??? Ha ha I think that was 13 different breeds and we don't wash our eggs if you care to know lol.

The first year we just want fresh eggs period, 2nd year we want some dark eggs, 3rd year we want some colored eggs, the 4th Year we want some more kinds. That's how you'll end up with chicken fuzzy math. Then repeat LOL

Oh my god that's about how I went. Except I've had chickens for about 3 1/2 years now and I just keep finding more clients I want.
I am pretty boring I use just a wire egg basket or a little silver pale I got at the feed store.

<sigh> Well, so much for cute little red wire egg basket I've been using for 2 years. Hubby decided he didn't need it tonight to get eggs after we got home from Billngs...he could just carry them in in his pockets, right? I don't think he expected 12 eggs. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a jacket to wash.

(*Snort!* Good thing I didn't have a beverage in my mouth...) That'll teach him! Maybe.

I use my pockets. Pajamas, usually. And then I get distracted and find myself doing some chore while I still have egg-pockets. I can't have them visible or else it's me vs. the Egg Police (one of my hens thinks I'm a burglar)!
Every time I go to collect eggs, it reminds me of the movie "Home Alone". It has been rainy and windy constantly and had to put a tarp over the coop/run making it difficult to collect eggs. Every time I go out there to let them out in the morning, one particular hen likes to stay in the coop while resting on the eggs. So I go back in the house and get the Meal worms to coax her down the ramp which usually works. While she is eating the worms at the bottom of the ramp in her run, I try to be sly and lift the tarp up to get access to the egg box from outside. Well, the tarp is loud and crinkly and secured with bungee cords which make it difficult and time consuming to remove. I finally remove the tarp and open the egg box lid and before I know it, I hear her feet tinka-tinka-tinka fast up the ramp. By the time I get the lid open, her face is staring right at me with her neck stretched out like a Jack-In-The-Box and BAH-AH-AH-AWK!

Won't be collecting eggs TODAY...:-(

I tried to get a pic with the eggs in it but my cat photobombed every one after this and then the camera battery died!!
