What do you use to store your feed bags in?

We were lucky to inherit someone's old coop building. It is 14' x 7' with a slanted roof and we are currently redoing the whole thing. We will have 6 chickens, so plenty of room.

What I'm curious about is, do you store your feed inside your coop? What do you store your feed in so it doesn't attract other animals and is secure?

Thanks!

55 gallon barrel with removable top. I have a feed shed I keep all my animals feed in, also doubles as my fishing crap storage.

I think normal people use metal trash cans
LOL! We have plenty of fishing stuff in the garage and plenty of room to put something in there too! Thank you.

Metal garbage cans all the way!! Rodent proof and reflects sun away.
I wasn't sure if those would keep raccoons out or not! Granted, if we have a raccoon IN the coop then there's a way bigger problem! Hoping it is rodent and snake proof too, but just want to make sure it doesn't attract anything! Thanks!

I agree with the metal one's with the lid's. If you get those though, you may have to apply some caulking on the inside of the lid where the handle is at, because if there is a bit of gap there bug's can get in.
That's a great idea! We were talking about those this morning, but that is what I brought up. I wasn't sure they actually sealed closed to keep things out. Thanks for the tip!

Keeping it in a plastic or metal bin will be fine, just make sure you secure the lid lol 😂 a friend of mine left the lid off one night and had a squirrel in the feed bin the next day.
LOL! I didn't even think about sealing it or making it secure. Great ideas! I'm sure we would have some critters in there if we did that too! Thanks!

Metal trash cans or metal 55 gallon barrels are the best. Rats can chew through just about everything else. Should be easy enough to keep a coon out of a shed. The metal clamp rings are a paint to put on and take off so if you can't fence out the larger critters, put a ten pound weight on top.
