A couple of suggestions please and please forgive me if redundant, I haven't finished reading all 30+ pages.
Could we please have a poultry/egg/baby poultry chart by geographic area that could be entered by the BYC members of their various types. Ideally, they would be allowed to update this as they change their breeds. (I can see something similar to the feedback chart that works so very well)
I know that there's currently a section in BYC for this but a chart would be so user friendly rather than reading or searching through all the pages. I've tried to use the search feature in that section and I keep missing some of the sellers because of spelling differences. I twould be really great if it were searchable....or if the chart self organized by State, If searchable is too much of a programming expense, I know I could copy and clip the geographic areas closest to me and paste them into word and then search for what I was seeking.
Could we please consider the sticky point for packing or at a minimum things that the buyer should ask about how the seller packs. I know there have been many many posts on this but I believe a special tutorial section on this would be great. I like Dipsy Doodle Doo's example. I use a modification of that my self with the bubble wrapped burritoed eggs being then put into a smaller box and then the small box additionally buffered with more packing in a larger box. (FYI, I continue to get reports from buyers where their eggs were just put in a commercial egg box and shipped in a priority box, where eggs were wrapped in tissues and put in a box with stryofoam, where eggs were wrapped in newspapers and put in newspapers crumples in a priority box. I know that BYC could not prescribe one way of wrapping, but I know that I've received many shippings where not one egg survived a hatch and it cannot be placed as a responsibility of the delivery agency. In each case, I've let the shipper know and it was sad to me, but hopefully I educated some folks along the way.
Just love BYC.....It's the best Board and I hope I've added to the friendship, fellowship, and help to the members on it.
Have a blessed day.
