What Do You Want Added To The BYC Forum & Site?

We're probably going to create a "notable archives" forum where problematic threads will be locked and kept so people can see what NOT to do.

We're also building out a better FAQ, so if have some suggestions on the FAQ / rules please add them there.

Can we maybe have the FAQ'S alphabetized? so much easier to look up? maybe cross referenced with alpha and date? I keep trying to find things I read before and wish they were easier to find. Such as I know I read how long you can keep fresh eggs before eating but can't find the thread that contained lots of good info. One lady mentioned living a boat w/o eggs being refridgerated for some time and I cannot find that thread even in the search. Maybe it is just me?

Good idea. As we build out and clean up the FAQs they should be in some logical order.

thanks, I know this won't be easy as we seem to get off the topic in threads and things get "lost" within the thread. I am going blind trying to read old threads trying to find the one on the egg freshness. I am giving it up for tonight. LOL You can't please all of us but you sure give it a good try.

Ah.. the power of the search on this forum! (okay, I cheated a little because I know SeaChick lived on a boat for some time). I did a search for "fresh eggs" and entered "SeaChick" as the author.


Also, I found it doing a search for "fridge" and "eggs" as the word search and "ozark hen" as the author.

Rob, something just came up on one of the forums which might be a good idea. To have a forum just for Tips. Things like yes, ACV is a good to put in the birds water for health reasons, but it can also be used with water to clean and sanitize feeders/waterers. And putting chicks in with poults will help teach the poults to eat/drink. Stuff like that. Whatcha think??

4H and I were discussing an addition to the BYC site today. Having a place where ppl can submit pics of specific breeds at certain ages and being able to look up the breed and age would be extremely handy- can also help us determine who has what characteristics when as far as sexing goes.

Oh, Barb, I love that idea. I have seen many posts of folks wanting to compare their babies to see if they are where they should be. I know I look all the time and compare mine! Plus, I want to see what they should look like at certain ages. Absolutely a wonderful idea!!
