What Do You Want Added To The BYC Forum & Site?

ok- I can't find the annoucement to try BLAB here...must have been on EZbyc...but I have a few comments

PRO
*Overall does the job
*Seems you get the functions we will want if you buy the full version (pm mainly)
*You can modify fonts to make for easier reading
*can check history from before you log on (pretty cool)

CON
*Font is way too small (my poor eyes)
*Background is too blue (my poor eyes)- fixable with full version
*While using EZ chat and Blab at the same time--I ended up liking EZ chat overall better.

Well--that's my initial feeling (on my one time testing mode)
Overall - Iwould rather have this chat here than none.

I think there should be a "Sexing young chickens" category. It seems like every third post in "Breeds in General" and "Raising Baby Chicks" is actually a question about sexing chicks (including several of my posts). It would be nice to have this in its own category, perhaps next after the Raising Baby Chicks category.

I'm really enjoying the 'have you set eggs this weekend' site. Any chance there could be a calendar page where you could enter your details and perhaps have a countdown. It's good to know of others in the same situation approaching day 21, or 22, etc. and it would be interesting to know the number of eggs set, the variety and how they were obtained, and the outcome of course!!

I would like a more indepth breed profile area. Have members submit pics and more write ups about all the different chicken breeds.

I like Keeper's idea too. Feathersite & Henderson's Chicken Chart are good for a general idea of the breeds, but I want to know what the forum member likes/dislikes about a particular breed.

Great ideas everyone! A few quick comments:

1) We've been working hard to get chat up / running and integrated and that's almost complete. We're now working on a few other items including upgrading the server to support chat and all the growth.

2) We definitely want to add polls and a calendar to the forum! Those are on the list.

3) We'd love to add more information / pictures to the BYC site. We're always soliciting for member contribution, but unfortunately we haven't received many submissions. If members want to contribute unique quality content and pictures we're more than happy to post their articles / information.

One feature that I always liked from one of my auto forums was the one: Most users online at one time. It gives the date and how many were on that day. Is it possable on this forum set up? Ed
