I don't know if anyone else has asked this, I looked but there is alot on here, but can a spell check be added? I suck at typing, and I like to use big words, but I can't spell most of them? I'm techie ignorent, so I have no idea if this would be a difficult thing to do? Thanks for listening!!!

How about a section for Polls?

I was thinking that maybe when you click on a persons name to see additional information about them, they could have a space to put a picture of themselves. This would be Optional of course.

Ok I have feedback on ONE of these things, (I think theyre all great BTW). Chat,...

Since so many things get said in chat that offend so many people, and things get discussed that arent things that should be discussed maybe with the other chat room. So what about this for an idea? Why dont we have a password for chat or something, or maybe an age limit? This is just something that might take away from all the stuff that gets talked about that might offend people or what it may be. Or have like two chatrooms? One for General/Social talk and one for Emergencies/Chicken Questions. That way something wont get overlooked if someone has an emergency or something? This is just an idea that I thought I would throw out there to try and prevent any problems from happening by the members.

Good ideas for chat. Here's what we could possibly do:

1) Multiple rooms for multiple topics / age groups.
2) Opt in chat: Right now anyone with a forum account will be able to access chat. A system could be designed (with a lot of work) that would make it so you would have to get admin / moderator permission to enter chat. The problem with this system is that new people who are in need of quick help via chat can't get in until they are granted permission. Everything else being said, this type of system is still better than no chat (as is being discussed elsewhere).
3) A warning system, so if x members mark someone as a problem chatter they are automatically banned from chatting and only admin can un ban them

As a new member, and as a regular internet user, I have never used nor know how to use a chat room feature.
That been said, having read about recent issues, if BYC needs to have a chat room, then the three suggestions that Nifty-Chicken just put forth are all excellent options for use.

I believe chat is a privilege. The tone of the chat room is determined by the admins. If you can't follow the tone, don't chat. If you don't understand the tone, ask the admins. If you understand and want to chat against that tone, go elsewhere. I see a lot of people whining about others being offended and it wasn't the intent. Guess what? Think before you post. Is your message possibly off the intent of the chat as determined by the admins? Don't type it.

Now that I think of it, I really don't know why this is coming up about people being offended. There is no chat here (yet, ever? who knows?)
Yes a chat would be "nice" here, however, with all the hoops to make it the way CC wants it, is it worth the bother?

Those who are repeat offenders in the other BYC chat know who they are. They are the ones causing all this grief and headaches for CC. The few ruin it for the many and is true in this case also.

Back on track. I personally would like to see smileys. I like smileys. I don't think they offend anyone.

I think it could be worked out Nifty. And with the two chat rooms, make one that only you can get in with admins permission and the other one you dont have to have in case someone does have an emergency like you said?

And why not just come out and say I was banned from BYC because something I was suppost to have said in chat and for breaking the rules like so many other members, terrie? That is what your trying to do isnt it? And I was just stating that so that the issues CC has to deal with wont be brought over here for the mods and admins to deal with here, with this being a new forum and all. It was just a suggestion and no need to get into what is happening at the ezboard forum.

And Nifty, isnt there some chat rooms out there that you can use? You can post a link on Social or something and members wanting to chat in the room must have a password to open the link to open the chatroom? Would that be easier than having to deal with making a two seperate chatrooms and making it so that one has to have a password?

Oh my lord, this is a miracle, this is the most I have thought in years. Someone get a camera, this is a Kodak moment!
