What do you wear to your coop at night.

I am NOT a morning person, and I am NOT going to get out of my nice warm jammies and change into cold clothes just to feed the chooks,

so my neighbors and ALL the people driving by at that time get to see quite an array of different jammies. I don't care- I'm known as the

crazybarnlady and it's a title I'm proud of!!

I once had my neighbor ask me, were you running to the barn in your nightgown and muck boots, and I have run back to the house in that same nightgown when someone has started comin down the lane. We gotta tuck in our peeps!

Such a funny thread!

Attire has become an issue at our house since I got chickens as I am generally dripping in pine shavings - the things stick to everything! DH is oddly unenthusiastic about finding them in our bed or picking them off of me in public, so he searched far and wide on the Internet for the perfect Christmas gift - a very stylish nylon parka - very slippery and the shavings just slide right off!

For warmer days, I keep an apron hanging outside the coop to cover my clothes. And since I like to wear gloves with my pearls, I get those powdered latex ones at the drug store.

We don't (so far, at least!) get standing water in or around our coop, so I swear by these "sloggers" - perfect for coop wear! I think they cost $14 at Orchard Supply - water repellent and great to slip on and off since I have the thought that bio-security-wise it's probably a good idea to not wear the same shoes in the house as in the coop.

Same here. Though I do prefer smooth soles over treaded boots...cleaning tread is not fun. DH gets mad when I come home in heels and work clothes and go check on the chickens before changing. The clothes are going into the hamper anyway.

I've been out in PJ's + crocs or muck boots plenty of times
been out in red longhandles + muck boots too
and lets not forget ugly fuzzy bathrobe + crocs (with wet hair!)

morning is usually work clothes + regular shoes
or regular clothes + regular shoes

My ducks are my alarm clock- so as soon as I hear them calling for breakfast I am up and grabbing at what ever is closest to the bed. Usually put on inside out in the hurry to get out there before the neighbours get woken up. After they are fed its into the shower and I get dressed for work. Then I go back out again to clean the water containers and give them extra feed for the day. Luckily although I live in the suburbs- I do have very high fences on all sides, so not likely to ever be seen.
