What do your neighbors think about your chickens?

Hilarious! My shepherd X is the most stubborn bone-headed dog I've ever had, and the only way I can get him to come most the time is to holler, "Loki! Chicken treat!"

A neighbor asked me one day why I called Loki "Trick or Treat" all the time!

My neighbors don't care.

And I never know when I'm going to go outside and find Homer, their mule, has decided to come by for a visit.

I have pretty terrific neighbors.

We live in a neighborhood with a strick hoa, but we still have our four gals. Luckily we live in the very back of the neighborhood next to a dead end and the woods. There are a few ranches around the area so you always hear cows and other farm animals. We've even had a cow in our front yard on more than one occasion! lol. We only have one true next door neighbor and they don't really seem to care. I had to knock on their door once bc our hen flew into their backyard and she was very nice about it. (our girl's wings stay clipped from now on) the rest of the people that live close to us love the chickens. I give our neighbors eggs when we have some extras so that always helps. My girls are also not very loud. They do the egg song after they lay an egg but only if they are locked up in the coop/run area. If we give them free range of the backyard they just lay their egg and run out into the grass!

I too am in the don't know and don't care group. My yard, my fence, my chickens, my rights under the law.
If they do not like it they need not look over the fence.

If any body has a problem with the oder of cooped chickens then insted of shaving or plain old straw put sand in there works for me beleave it or not I can not smell any chicken crap or any thing trust me it works magic !

We only have one nieghbor. They used to complain if our dog barked. We had a peacock that got to where he spent as much time at their house as he did at home. Was worried about him bothering them so I found him a new home. A few weeks later I saw her at the store and she wanted to know what happened to "her" peacock when I told her what I had done and why she was very upset. Told me not do anything to "her" chickens cuz she loves to sit and watch them. She even buys feed to feed them at her house!! One day a few weeks ago she stopped me and said some chickens had ran into trouble with a hawk and could I please keep them in for awhile hoping the hawk would go away. I feel very lucky they like the chickens they still don't like the dog to bark more than 2 times, but hey I can deal with that.

That is nice! I'd be bringing them eggs for sure. She must have a thing where she strongly dislikes dogs. Peafowl is pretty noisy, but the males are sure beautiful. We hear barking all the time. There are people who leave their dogs outside all night long and they bark the whole time wanting to get in. I don't hear it unless our windows are open, but no one has complained and it's gone on for years now.
