Came home from running my around to see I have a peck in my egg. I already have one little fella out he's 2 days old. I can see it's still trying to push it's self out. I'm worried because I don't hear any sound. Where it's pecked growing much larger crack. If I have to help when would be a good time to? I know some may think it's wrong but I know my little isn't happy on its own.

My biggest worry is that I can't get the incubator past 65% humidity without causing the top to be wet.... It's like raining inside it.

I have just recently saved one of my own chicks. In order to help them you need to take ONLY the egg shell off. If they can't get the membrane off then they won't be strong enough to live or walk around much. My little dude is just now starting to walk right and he hatched Saturday. Its my fault for helping him too much.

let that chick go a full 24 hours before you assist. Did you do a staggered hatch? Are your vents open? I'm guessing your hygrometer is not well callibrated. At 65%, it wouldn't be dripping down the sides. It would be very moist, but not dripping, Your humidity is most likely just fine, and that chick needs time to finish hatching. Go read a book, sit on your hands, look but don't touch. How many other eggs left to hatch?
