What does this behavior mean?

I agree with the other poster above.. it sounds like they are just playing. Do you typically give them treats? If they recognize you as the awesome person who brings them yummies, they might just be giving you a very happy greeting.

Sometimes when I weed the garden, I will find a worm and feed it to them. Sometimes they take it, but sometimes they don't. But they love the tiny little clovers that grow in our yard so I find that sometimes and offer it to them. They devour it every time.

Sounds like you have nice, friendly birds. Some of my chickens like to do the same thing. Be careful w your eyes, though, because they might try to peck it out of curiosity when they are at your shoulders at eye level.

I know!!! They got me once already because I had all three of them on my arms and shoulders and I was wearing mascara and I guess they thought they were bugs. Lol.

What they are most likely doing is seeking a fun, high place on which to perch. Until chicks grow heavy enough where it's not as easy to fly up to high places, youngsters will make the most of their light bodies and will be trying out every high place they can find.

It's less that they are "in love" with you than they are still young and are having fun with their wings. But apparently, they do trust you or they wouldn't be getting so close to you.

I have no idea what it means but one of my 13 week old easter eggers started it with me today. She comes up from behind and flies onto my shoulders. She is one of six young ee hens and is the most aggressive of my hens, including 5months old BCMarans. She started it when I began paying special attention to her and took several photographs. She did it twice. I started, and she flew off,but then,when my back was turned,she tried it again. At other times, she is skittish.
