What does YOUR farmhouse look like?! Post pictures here!

I'm glad we at least have the painting since we can't find a picture of the whole house....just bits and pieces of it. My husband was only a year old when they tore it down so he doesn't remember it. Most of the windows and doors in our house are from the old house. I need to find a picture of it when my flowers are blooming....looks cheerier then!!

Ooh cool

Soon I'll have a picture to post here. We're currently signing paperwork on a 3 acre farm. It's a real dive now, but we'll be fixing it up, so I can post our renovations to this section

Our 'move in' date is June 20th. Hopefully, I can get in there sooner to work on it.

Here's the front side taken in February or March. The walls are all brick that were made on site. The house was built in the late 1800s.

$100 at a time won't quite do it.

This is our 105 year old farm house. Sadly it is for Sale because we wanted to move to the country and have more land to raise more chickens! So , if anyone wants a beautiful Farm House in Franklin NC.(60 Miles W. of Asheville) just let me know and we will make you a good deal!
What we won't do for those chickens!

Your house looks a bit familiar O__O

It's a beautiful house. Are you guys neighbors?

Haha, I don't think so.. The house just looked familiar, same province though!

Thanks Miss Prissy for the advice. Hubby is wanting one of those big things that goes in back yard and hooks up to existing three heat units (2 electric, 1 propane). I think it's called a wood furnace?? The problem is there is not one room where we spend most of our time. Our offices are in our home and we each have one (one up, one down) - our bedroom is upstairs but kitchen and den down. We have company just about every weekend which means using the other bedrooms and parlors.

He's also wanting to get a wind turbine for generating electricity. Our goal is to try and become as self-sufficient as possible.

Chickaroo! :

Miss Prissy or Ruth...can I move in with either of you!!?? I promise I'll be a good girl and help around the house and take care of the chickens!

ABSOLUTELY - Can you start tomorrow? I'll pay your transportation to get here.

Seriously, we just got home from dinner out after working the farm all day long (me anyway). I was so tired and told my husband we need to hire caretakers. I can't do it all myself and the time I'm spending on the farm needs to be spent running my business. In any event the plan is to put a trailer on the property till the carriage house can be restored and pay someone (or a couple) to help take care of the place and the animals and let them live here for free. Any takers?

Man, your houses are beautiful! I live in the middle of town, in a rental. I keep my birds at my grandma's house, but she picked the ugliest colors in the world to paint it so I wont post a pic, lol. I hope to one day have a nice house on a billion acres, but that wont happen until I move out and finish college.
