what duck is right for me

i want something that is a dependable layer but also something that will sit on my eggs is there 1 breed that is good for both or should i get some kahki campbells for laying and muscovies for setting and what are the chances free range ducks will cross breed with other breeds (like my barred rock roo breeds with my polish hens)?

I got runners for their laying capacity and muscovies to sit on the runner eggs. Muscovies lay fairly well but not as good as runners. I hear welsh harlequins are decent layers and setters, but mine are too young for me to know yet. And yes, there will be cross breeds, though anything that crosses with a muscovy will not be fertile.

thanks for the quick replys ive had chickens for a yr recently got a pair of pekin ducks and they grew so much faster then my chicks i bought with them and the fact duck eggs sell for so much figured i would look into getting some more ducks
